Promising Leader of Modern India

Promising Leader of Modern India?Any guesses?Who else can that be,other than the great Narendra Modi??

I myself was not a big admirer of Narendra Modi, before a few months. As everyone,I was also thinking only of his negative image projected by the media.Of late, when I read about Narendra Modi's contribution in the development of Gujarat in a magazine,I could not stop admiring this man.

I don't want to stop with admiring,I want to share it through my blog, what has turned me a big admirer of Shri.Narendra Modi. My admiration went to the level of thinking the possibilities of outsourcing him as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and I started envying Gujaratis!!

When Indians in other states wake up to the news of scams, terrorist attacks, robbery etc.,etc.,Gujaratis wake up to the achievements of their state under the guidance of their great leader!!This State now has more than 70 awards to feel proud about.Believe me,I am not exaggerating!!

After a long time India is seeing a incorruptible leader!!Seeing him many good hearted, service minded people get motivated to enter into politics, which is a welcome change in today's political scenario in India!!

Some leaders are born, some are made; Mr.Modi fall into the first category.Leadership quality is something innate to this great man!!When he was sworn in for the first time as CM, there were many challenges awaiting him.He faced them all and emerged as a winner.

Few notable achievements of Mr.Modi's Government:

  • The rehabilitation work carried out during the time of destructive earth quake that shook Gujarat in 2001.
  • Creation of single window clearance system for industrial and infrastructure projects, thus creating a hurdle-free environment for the investors to work with the state machinery.
  • Converting the power deficit state to power a surplus state.Gujarati villages are 100% electrified and solar power is best use of.
  • Constructed several check dams, boribunds etc., and successfully implemented rain water harvesting system with co-operation from the people thus conserving water.
  • Inter-linking of 21 rivers of the state.
  • Agricultural production of fruits and vegetables have seen commendable and historical growth of 108% ,thus making agriculture one of the biggest contributor for the state's GDP.1/3rd of the state's GDP is achieved through agriculture.
  • Sales tax collection of INR 50,967 crore during 2001-2007,whereas it was only INR 49,611 from 1960- 2001.
  • Involving people in the process of development.
  • Computerizing all the departments of the state.
  • SWAGAT is an innovative concept that enables direct communication between the citizens and the chief minister. All the grievances directed will be acted upon in 3 days.
  • Under CHIRANJEEVI VANDANA scheme private gynecologists provide services to pregnant women from poor families for a safe delivery. This scheme bagged an International recognition in the form of Asian Innovation Award from the prestigious Wall Street journal and the Financial Express.
  • Setting up of evening courts and disposed off nearly a million cases in 2006,using the existing infrastructure effectively, thus saving the time & money of people.
  • Another initiative is KRISHI MAHOTSAV-The agricultural festival is a rendez-vous of the farming community.
  • Face lifting the state's infrastructure
  • World class educational and research institutions in the knowledge corridor
  • The planning commission has set a target growth rate of 10.2% in it's 10th five year plan for Gujarat, whereas the national average in 8%,and Gujarat marched past it by showing a growth rate of 15% and the average growth rate of Gujarat is 10%-12%.
  • VIBRANT GUJARAT SUMMIT organized by the state government every year is a big success, and the value of MOUs signed every year seems to surpass the mark set in the previous year.
  • Adjudged the BEST CM OF THE YEAR for 3years in a row by India Today-ORG MARG survey!!
  • Gujarat ranks No.1 in the Economic Freedom Index as per the research conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.
  • He was adjudged,"PERSON OF THE YEAR" by a weekly magazine Chitralekha, rating ahead of Amitabh Bachchan and a few others!!
Whatever I've listed here as his achievements is just the tip of the ice-berg!!
"When the intentions are honest and the commitment true, support will follow you"-How true this is!!He is a man of conviction,a born leader who think and dream for the betterment of his people.

My Muslim friends in Gujarat say, they are happy with his administration, and remember,Gujarati muslims are one of the most prosperous muslim communities in India. If Modi is really so,as the media projects him to be,the above said statements would not have been true.

    LATEST NEWS:
Modi preferred over Rahul as PM-LenOnNews Poll report

This Gujarati, who has business in his cells, has also received accolades from the Big B's of the Corporate world-Tata,Ambanis etc.,

Even though all these awards show how superb a leader he is,what makes him really a promising leader is,even his enemy cannot deny his achievements!!This is the best reward a human can ever get in his life!!

So next time before you accuse him, better plan for a trip to Gujarat and see the changes for yourself!!I'm sure many of you will become fans of Mr.Modi!!A trip to Gujarat is already there in my agenda!!

A big salute to Modiji on behalf of the citizens of India!!

Tell me now, have not I now justified my envy towards Gujaratis??!!

    WASTAGE OF FOOD IN INDIA

India is the 3rd largest food producer in the world. India prides itself to be the world’s largest producer of many food items, but still 1/3rd of the Indian population is mal-nourished and starving. When there is enough food production, why so many are mal-nourished and starved and why is there a high rate of inflation of food products? The reason is plain and simple. We WASTE FOOD. Wasting food, does that point out individuals alone? Not only individuals, but the Government also need to be blamed as well for being so lethargic over such a prominent issue the country is facing today. Food Shortage in India is caused by government control, lazy, corrupt and irresponsible bureaucrats and poor practice of storage and distribution of the food.

Statistics say only 7% of the food is processed in India. Food and vegetables worth 350 billion rupees go waste in India every year.20% of the total food produced is eaten by the rodents. We have a long way to go. There has to be a massive investment to give the food processing a big boost. Why has the government not taken measures to check the wastage of food? Or the government thinks that it’s not the duty of the government to care about issues like this? It is high time that the Government start taking measures to improve the warehouses as well as set cold storage facilities. The grains not dried properly after harvests are vulnerable to fungal infections. The cold storage infrastructure is more relevant to handling of horticultural produce which is vulnerable to spoilage due to their high degree of perishability. If the cold storage and frozen food distribution facilities are strengthened, spoilage of fruits and vegetables can be reduced significantly. If the infrastructures of the warehouses for grains are improved to international levels, the government can easily check the wastage of food. Sheer will and vision from the government’s side can help check the wastage of food products, thereby reducing the scarcity and controlling the food inflation.

Another reason for the inflating food prices are the so called big fat Indian weddings. Today weddings have become status symbols and media does its part perfectly to influence even middle classes for grandiose weddings. There are several weddings in India, especially the weddings of rich people serves more than 5 courses of meal with several varieties in each course. Weddings act as a right spot for spending the black money accumulated by the rich people. In due course of time, a grand wedding has become an order of the day in India. So much food is wasted in these weddings, and it becomes impossible for reducing the wastage of food, since one cannot predict the exact turn out ratio of the guests. What can be done is, they can reduce the number of courses served in the weddings and the number of varieties as well. If there are still leftovers, they can find proper means to distribute them to the poor and needy. Before planning for grandiose weddings, just think about the fellow Indians who are starving. We should go by Gandhi’s saying,” The rich should live simpler so that the poor could live simply”
    Grand Wedding Dinner

    Food Wastage

For a trillion dollar economy like India, the Government should have taken steps for basic necessities like this. At least now, the Government should wake up and take this matter very seriously and should take necessary measures to reduce the wastage of food. If not, food crisis in India in the near future will become unavoidable, which will make the economy of our country go shambles.

Let we individuals take an oath from our side, that we will not waste the food kept on our plates. It is a small but a remarkable initiative from our side to reduce the wastage of food! If many of us join together to work against the food wastage, we can make a big difference. Remember, “The journey of thousand miles start with a single step”.
This is not only an economic issue involving money, but also a social issue involving the lives of millions of people. Controlling wastage of food products in India is the order of the day. Allowing FDIs in food processing industry looks like a promising initiative, but we need to wait to see, how well it is going to be implemented!!

    Stay Focused!!

THE MAN WHO SOLD HOT DOGS

THERE WAS A MAN WHO LIVED BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SOLD HOT DOGS.
HE WAS HARD OF HEARING SO HE HAD NO RADIO.
HE HAD TROUBLE WITH HIS EYES SO HE READ NO NEWSPAPERS.
BUT HE SOLD GOOD HOT DOGS.
HE PUT UP SIGNS ON THE HIGHWAY TELLING HOW GOOD THEY WERE.
HE STOOD ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CRIED; "BUY A HOT DOG, MISTER?
    AND PEOPLE BOUGHT.
HE INCREASED HIS MEAT AND BUN ORDERS.
HE BOUGHT A BIGGER STOVE TO TAKE CARE OF HIS TRADE.
HE FINALLY GOT HIS SON HOME FROM COLLEGE TO HELP HIM OUT.
    BUT THEN SOMETHING HAPPENED.
HIS SON SAID, "FATHER, HAVEN'T YOU BEEN LISTENING TO THE RADIO?
HAVEN'T YOU BEEN READING THE NEWSPAPERS?
    THERE'S A BIG DEPRESSION.
    THE EUROPEAN SITUATION IS TERRIBLE.
    THE DOMESTIC SITUATION IS WORSE."
WHERE UPON THE FATHER THOUGHT, "WELL, MY SON'S BEEN TO COLLEGE, HE READS THE PAPERS AND HE LISTENS TO THE RADIO, AND HE OUGHT TO KNOW."
SO THE FATHER CUT DOWN ON HIS MEAT AND BUN ORDERS, TOOK DOWN HIS ADVERTISING SIGNS, AND NO LONGER BOTHERED TO STAND OUT ON THE HIGHWAY TO SELL HIS HOT DOGS.
AND HIS HOT DOG SALES FELL ALMOST OVERNIGHT.
"YOU'RE RIGHT, SON" THE FATHER SAID TO THE BOY.
"WE CERTINAILY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A GREAT DEPRESSION."

There is a famous saying, "You become, what you think".It's always better, not to bother too much about negative things, that happen around us. Least, we can insulate ourselves from negative thoughts around us.If we encourage good thoughts, everything good will follow us.I am sick and tired of negative people.

I always choose vibrant and positive people around me to make my surrounding positive. Come what may, lets stay FOCUSED,POSITIVE and  MOVE FORWARD to achieve our goals.I dedicate this post to my father who is the most positive person I've ever met in my life.Dad is my biggest inspiration in life and he is someone, who sees a positive point, even in a disaster.Thank you Daddy for imbibing this positiveness
in me.This quality helps me keep going and focused in whatever I do!!Love you dear Dad for all that you have been to me!!

So Friends,STAY FOCUSED ON YOUR GOALS!!

    Medical Tourism

Medical tourism is a term involving people who travel to a different place to receive treatment for a disease, ailment, or condition, and who are seeking lower cost of care, higher quality of care, better access to care, or different care than they could receive at home. Bottom line: Undertaken by people who are sick. (Definition by Global Spa Summit LLC 2011).

Medical Tourism is nothing new, but old wine packed in a new bottle. We can even take it this way; Medical Tourism has become popular amongst commons due to the advent of Globalization.

The History of Medical Tourism dates back to ancient times:
    • The Sumerians(circa 4000 BC),constructed health complexes around hot springs
    • The Ancient Greeks erected temples, which became one of world’s first health centers.
    • India has enjoyed a rich history of providing Yoga instruction as well as Ayurvedic healing    to patients from around the world.
    • In Medieval Japan, hot mineral springs called ONSEN became popular throughout the nation due to their healing properties. The warrior clans soon took notice of these springs and began using them to alleviate pain, heal wounds, and recuperate from their battles.
    • During the 14th Century, there was a town called Ville d'Eaux or Town of Waters became very famous in Europe, because iron-rich hot springs were discovered in this region. The word “spa”, derived from the Roman term “salude per aqua” or health through waters, was first used here.
With the advent of Globalization, people started looking out for destinations providing quality medical care at a minimal cost. In America, several healthcare and insurance companies started healthcare outsourcing. These offered their members the possibility to get non-emergency procedures and surgeries in other countries. Many are also considering foreign medical procedures as part of health plan coverage. By outsourcing the medical care, especially non-emergency health care to countries like India, they save a huge amount. It’s purely a cost cutting mechanism adopted by health care providers in US.

Medical Tourism has become a boon for middle class people from US and European Countries, where the cost of undergoing a single procedure is expensive. In countries like India, they can afford to get the same high quality treatment including two way air fare at almost 40%-70% less, than what they get in their home countries. As the prices of receiving good health-care soar, and the insurance cover becomes poor, the waiting period becomes longer; one is inclined to explore the avenues. If the same (sometimes, even better health-care) is available, it’s human and wiser as well, to go for it. This is how the modern Medical Tourism came into existence.

Benefits of Medical Tourism in India:
    •         Affordability
    •         High Quality treatment
    •         No waiting period or short waiting periods

Risks of Medical Tourism in India:
    •       Except for top-notch hospitals, not many are accredited
    •       Post-medical care is poor
    •       Post operation travel alone by the patient may be a risk in certain cases, so the patient need to accompany someone to take care of him during travel, which again increases the cost.

The most popular treatments sought in India by medical tourists are:
    ·   Alternative medicine(Yoga, healing methods like meditation, Ayurvedic treatments etc.,)
    ·   Bone-marrow transplant
    ·   Cardiac bypass surgery
    ·   Eye surgery
    ·   Orthopedic surgery
    ·   Dental Care
    ·   Cosmetic Surgeries
    ·   Spa
    ·   Rejuvenation therapies with yoga and meditation as a part of the package
India is known in particular for heart surgery, hip resurfacing and other areas of advanced medicine.
    Poornima
The South Indian city of Chennai is considered to be the healthcare capital of India as it is home to some of India's best medical centers.
Though, there are many advantages of undergoing treatment in India as a Medical Tourist, India does not have many hospitals accredited to International standards like JCI. This proves as a major setback factor for the growth of Medical Tourism as a flourishing industry in India. Singapore is the number one health care provider and is the number one choice of foreigners because of having over dozen hospitals which are JCI accredited and also Singapore acts as a world-class, cosmopolitan destination for receiving high end treatments. These factors make Singapore an attractive destination for medical tourism, though the cost is comparatively on the higher side than in India.

If the Government takes further steps and measures to improve, say if they encourage many more health-care providers to get proper accrediting to international standards like JCI, ISO etc., Medical Tourism in India is sure to flourish and is sure to grab a lion’s share from the neighboring countries like Singapore to become the market leader in Asia, thereby improving the economy of the country.
